Would you believe that this is one of the first quilts I ever made....almost 40 years ago....I used a baby announcement card...copied the picture and then sent the quilt and a package of announcements to my sister Anita.  Not so much quilting on this one by today's standards.....I have come a long ways, baby!

BUNNIES and A BAG

I made this circular bunny baby quilt for a dear friend to give as a gift. It measures about 42¨in diameter and was just so darn cute I decided to do one with toucans....stay tuned to see a picture of that one soon.

SOPHIA TAKES A BATH

I finished this 12¨x 12¨portrait quilt of my great niece, SOPHIA.

She is taking a bath and sucking on her froggy bath doll!

I plan to send this to my sister, Grandma Anita, for save keeping.

I hope you enjoy.

SNEAK PEEK 2

Now you can see where I have added the cuffs on the first picker and tacked the pieces together.  I have started the face on the young coffee picker.  He is hip, modern wears sneakers, sunglasses and has a cell phone...but still picks coffee by hand...GOT THE IDEA!

SNEAK PEEK

If you read my last post you know I am working on a quilt with coffee pickers.  This weekend I was finally satisfied with the sketch and started to work in fabric. Here is a sneak peek of the first picker!  Still need to do the cuffs on the shirt ..but it is a great start.

TRADICION

TRADITION
2013 Quilt Competition

FRIENDS - THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR FEEDBACK!

As a result, I have gone through 2 more interations of my sketch and I am much more pleased with this rendition.  I hope you can see this faint cell phone photo.  I did not bother to draw in all the coffee leaves but you can get a feel for my intentions.
